Congratulations to West Burlington High School teacher Megan Steahr on being selected to participate in the National History Day Researching Silent Heroes webinar series! This program, in partnership with the American Battle Monuments Commission, provides educators with specialized training to research and honor individuals who served in the U.S. military.
As part of this opportunity, Ms. Steahr will create a profile of U.S. Army Air Corps Staff Sergeant Wayne C. Thulin, who gave his life in service to our country. Her research will be published on the National History Day Silent Heroes website in 2025 and shared with the ABMC for use in future educational materials.
We are proud of Ms. Steahr’s dedication to bringing history to life for her students and honoring those who served.
